Sugar-King Pre Launch 4/20/21

First launch date:

Friday April 30, 2012

1500 hours the boat is scheduled to splash into the Caloosahatchee River from Glades Boat Storage. The Friday launch buys us the weekend dockside to see how/if the boat will work.

In practice the motor has been gone through and is pretty fresh, fuel tanks have been cleaned, hull and topsides have been painted, pumps rebuilt, fresh batteries, companionway has been widened and systems have been dry tested. Let’s hope for the best.

Andy Grant, the fiberglass man, has been pressed into service and will pilot the boat from the lift to the pier on Friday. After the boat is secured we’ll play around with several ideas concerning getting Chris on board followed by the wheelchair. The big goal is no damage to Chris, no damage to the chair, no damage to the boat.

so far so good.

i'm a sucker for old stuff. i have more passion than i have talent- but we usually manage to hold things together. luckily my co-pilot is a hell of a mechanic and engineer.
